Elikem ( @elikem_detailor ) pays Big Brother The Chase title sponsors, Airtel a visit cc: @pokellosexxy @BigBroAfrica

Data users on Airtel Ghana’s network have now been given an opportunity to roll-over unexpired data bundles.

The move forms part of mechanisms to enhance customer experience on the network. With the Data Roll Over product a customer who purchases a new bundle before his expiry date will enjoy data roll over i.e. he will add on to his previous bundle.

For example, in the event that a subscriber has 750MB in his data account that will expire on August 20, 2013 and tops up his bundle with 200MB valid for 30 days on August 15, 2013, the 200MB would be added to his 750MB and be rolled over with the new validity date of September 15, 2013.

The data roll over product is another first from Airtel.

This was announced by Marketing Director of Airtel Ghana, Ashish Malhotra when Big Brother Africa finalist, Elikem Kumordji paid a courtesy call at the head office of Airtel at Ridge in Accra.

WITH SO MUCH INFECTIOUS BEAT ( @infectiousbeats ) , DEFINITELY BAD GYAL ( @UnyxNate ) HAS COME TO STAY.

As the saying goes behind every hit song is the producer/sound engineer, infectious beat has made landmark in dancehall / Reggae/Afro beats in Ghana and beyond , As every famous producer does after years of hard work is to own or help build a record label and infectious is no exception “Delicious Music ” which is being managed by the producers and co-partners of producers from the UK, has camped a lot of great talents with strong flow in genre such as dancehall, reggae, afro-music, hip-life,lovers rock ,etc .

One of the outstanding names is “Bad Gyal” she is the only female on the record label, never the less she has a very strong vocal and lyrical talent with a good image branding. The name BadGyal does not reflect her behavior or others in a bad way but, she is just very good in her flow, lyrics, performs and with a strong personality making her stand out as one of the baddest in her genre.

Bad Gyal  , who is a dancehall ,afro-music artist  has a number of songs to her name … her first 2 debut  songs entitle “Everyman Wants” and “Pumpum Factory” which were produce by infectious beat …are very baddest tunes.

Radio Presenter & Musician Pope Skinny ( @popeskinnyGH ) Escapes Death

When Hiplife artiste and host of Adom Fm's Kasahari Level, Pope Skinny decided to visit Akropong to promote his new single titled ''hot cake'' featuring Shatta Wale, never did he know that could have marked the end of his life on this earth. If it hadn't been for the timely intervention of his friends and health personnel at the Achimota Terminal Hospital, Pope Skinny would have been dead by now.

Reliable information gathered by Flex Newspaper indicates that Pope Skinny was at Akropong on Sunday August 11, 2013 to promote his new banger ''hot cake''.As should be expected, everything went on smoothly and had favorable response from his fans until he returned to Accra in the early hours of Monday August 12, 2013.When the young hiplife artiste got to Accra, he started having stomach upsets and felt it was just  normal diarhoea and didn't bother about it that much till his condition worsened.

He had to be rushed to the Achimota Terminal Hospital by some of his friends when they realized his condition was becoming very critical and life-threatening. Upon being examined, the doctor in charge (name not readily available) informed Pope Skinny that what he was experiencing wasn't mere diarhoea but was a case of poisoning and would have died if he hadn't been brought to the hospital. Pope Skinny was treated and later on in the evening discharged.

When Flex Newspaper got in touch with Pope Skinny, he confirmed the story. He was however in a state of shock as he could not understand why someone would want to kill him. He noted that he felt he was only experiencing stomach upset only to be rushed to the hospital when he realized he had gotten to the point of death.

GH ONE ( @GhOneTV ) Scraps off Laugh Out Loud Comedy Reality Show!!! cc: @g_quaye

Officially, GH One has scrapped off their comedy search reality show dubbed Laugh Out Loud GH which used to air on their channel some few weeks ago.

Sometimes when writers make an observation on a negative development for publication, we are most times seen and tagged as dream-killers, haters, unguarded and unprofessional writers. Nonetheless, since the truth is always one, sometimes we are vindicated; just that no one gives as acknowledgment or encomium. Whether we are tagged as dream-killers, haters, unguarded and unprofessional writers, or not given acknowledgment and encomium, we shall always write with all sincerity. God knows our genuine thoughts so man can say whatever.

A month ago, I published an article with the headline; 'Ghanaian Comedians Disgrace Charterhouse.' In the said publication, I lauded Charterhouse and GH One for initiating the first ever comedy search reality show on their channel called Laugh Out Loud GH. However, I suggested management of GH One scrap the programme off their channel.

Reasons: majority of the supposed comedians who auditioned had no comedy incision, the supposed comedians don't have confidence, they don't have the intelligence, wit and attitude for comedy and their English hummed like the Korle Gonno human excreta cesspool. I did the review with a clean and objective conscience.

“We Are Not Competing Secular Musicians' – Nacy

That gospel musicians are at the low ebb when it comes to branding and marketing of themselves, is an observation that has been made by some entertainment buffs.

Hardly do Gospel musicians get international awards, ambassadorial deals, among other contracts that those in the secular world get. In other words, the secular musician is well branded than the gospel musician, the observation indicates.

However, recording engineer and musician Nacy says gospel musicians are not in any competition with secular musicians and should not be compared.

“We are in a different world. What we do is a ministry so we don't do things to please ourselves or any human being. We do things to please God so you don't expect us to compete with secular musicians in the way they brand or market themselves. We have our own way of doing things,” he said.

When asked if Gospel musicians are not worried when they see juicy deals going to the secular musicians, he answered in the negative.

“No, we don't. At least I can speak for No Tribe that we are not worried at all. We were here when Glo came to sign some of our friends who do secular music but we all know what they have suffered for taken up that contract,” Nacy added.

Sarkodie ( @sarkodie ) drops hot album cover for Sarkology album! cc: @sammyforson

Sarkodie has released an arty album cover for his upcoming third studio album, Sarkology.  Just like the name implies, the rapper  appears to be taking us to school in rap. The cover shows a young boy reading a magazine on Sarkodie, in a chair surrounded by school supplies and copies of Sarkodie CDs.

Sarkodie released the cover on twitter on Wednesday to the admiration of many.

The rapper is currently in London shooting a video for a single from the album. The album will include hits such as ‘Illuminati’ and ‘Ordinary Love’ featuring Tiwa Savage.

Sarkodie also promises fans an eclectic collection of songs of his ‘Sarkology’ album expected to be out in August. He said: “There’s a lot to expect on the new album, I can easily call it a Nigerian album because I have all my Nigerian friends supporting me on this album.

I have 2face, Timaya, Banky W, Wizkid and so it is a lot of me stepping up and mixing up with the styles of other artists.  This is not planned but I think gradually I am doing more of female targeted songs because they want to see that side of Sarkodie. So I have Tiwa, Raquel, Efya and and Sian on it also.  So it’s more like giving listeners a variety of sounds. I also have azonto as well. The album is me but stepping it a notch up.“

Rumours from Big Brother The Chase finale: Hakeem bonked Huddah and Nando Stole a ‘Go-Pro’ camera #bbathechase

Big Brother The Chase may be over but increasingly it is becoming the most controversial season of Big Brother Africa yet! There are rumours that Zimbabwean housemate Hakeem and Kenya’s  Huddah might have had sex before the show’s finale last Sunday night. Hakeem, who was in a heated relationship with Zambian Cleo before his eviction from the show is alleged to have betrayed his love for the Zambian rapper after he had openly proposed to her while in the house.

Cleo, who survived in the reality show to the final day, Sunday, had also professed and maintained her love for the well built Zimbabwean model and the emergence of a love fling between him and Huddah has stunned followers of show. Reports indicate that all evicted housemates – including Hakeem and Huddah – reported to the Hilton Hotel in Sandton in Johannesburg ahead of the finale, Sunday. Sources at the hotel say that the two got very touchy and intimate during a ‘party’ at the hotel. A picture of the two kissing passionately has added currency to rumours that the two got sexually intimate after the party. Reports have it that Huddah might have leaked the photo.

Cleo’s man Hakeem had sex with Huddah before Big Brother finale?

On the eviction stage Sunday night, Hakeem still maintained his love for Cleo, who was clearly oblivious of what might have transpired between her man and Huddah. Huddah just looked on smiling as the Zimbabwean maintained his love for the Zambian, who emerged first runner up in the reality show.

“I Don’t Smoke Nor Drink, I’m A Good Christian” – Promzy (VIP) cc: @vipghana @promzyafrika1

Promzy, the “crazy” member of the VIP music trio has said that he does not give a damn about how people describe him. “I’m often seen as a rowdy person but that is me. When you say something or do something I’m not comfortable with, I tell you my mind straight away even if it would end up in a fight.

He told Showbiz last week that everyone was born different and that is his lifestyle and if anyone is not happy with it the fellow can go and “burn the sea”.

“The thing is I am not a hypocrite, I wouldn’t smile with you when I know you have wronged me. I hate hypocrites and people who are close to me know it” Promzy said. He described himself as a good Christian who doesn’t smoke or drink because he knows it was not good for his health.

“I can be very nice.  Being straight and speaking my mind does not make me a bad person. It is better you let people know who you are than hide your real character. When you are real, people accept you but when you are fake, people get shocked when they see you do certain things they don’t expect from you. I hate hypocrites. In fact hypocrites cannot come close to me” he said.

Recently, during the filming of their latest music video, My Area, Promzy jumped from a first floor height and landed hard on a nearby roof and had to be rushed to the hospital in time to receive treatment. He explained when he recovered that he jumped deliberately because he wanted that particular scene in the video where the police was after him to look real and he wanted to do something out of the ordinary.

Lovers Reunite At The Big Brother Africa #TheChase Finale

The Finale stage was chockfull of moments that would melt the coldest of hearts.

As soon as Beverly's heels touched the Live Eviction Stage, her man Angelo stood waiting, arms wide open. When the Nigerian turned around to see what the commotion behind her was about, she caught a glimpse of her dreadlocked man and ran straight into his arms.

Angelo and Beverly were one of the couples who made this season memorable. Who can forget their saucy shenanigans in the bedroom after every Channel O party?

Another couple that reunited on the Live Eviction stage was Polikem.

When Elikem made his way to the stage after being Evicted from the House, pretty Pokello was waiting. The two lovers ran into each other arms and shared a passionate clinch that definitely sent temperatures soaring. Once they had reluctantly pried their lips apart, Pokello showed off her outfit, which was pimped out with a tape measure, a style made famous by her man Elikem, who is a tailor. "I'm down for you baby," she said, as Elikem beamed proudly.

Cleo and her man Hakeem also got their moment on stage, after having not seen each other since Hakeem was Evicted. The Zambian rapper, who got the second highest number of votes, after Chase champion Dillish, found comfort in her man’s arms, who held on to her and wouldn't let go. Looks like our Chasemates have found true love! It's safe to say Babylon will be very busy tonight.

Elikem Kumordzi is the Most Romantic Housemate in The BigBrother Africa #TheChase

Elikem is the Most Romantic Housemate of The Chase and walks away with a holiday valued at USD 10 000.

After three months of Africa Voting for their Most Romantic Gesture on a weekly basis, Elikem serving his girl Pokello breakfast in bed won the hearts of Big Brother The Chase viewers.

Though Hakeem proved to be quite the romantic with his real marriage proposal to his lady love Cleo, the gifts he brought her when they met in the Rendezvous Room and him asking her on a date during the first week of The Chase, it was Elikem's sole Romantic Gesture that hit the spot. Meanwhile, Koketso's strawberries and cream also failed to make the cut.

Elikem's Most Romantic Gesture prize package is as follows:

Elikem Kumordzi - The Tailor, takes the third spot At The Big Brother Africa #TheChase

Ghanaian Housemate Elikem has become the third Finalist to be Evicted this evening.

Following Melvin and Beverly's Evictions, the trendy tailor, who was looking as dashing as ever in one of his colourful creations, was the next Chasemate to make an exit from the Ruby House.

He may not be walking away with the USD Grand Prize but the young Housemate managed to bag himself the coveted title of the Most Romantic Gesture for his breakfast in bed for Pokello. This means that the Ghana man is walking away with an amazing holiday package valued at USD 10 000! "I am taking Pokello no doubt," shouted the Ghana man.

Over the past 91 days, Elikem proved to be quite a strong contender in The Chase, he dodged the Evictions bullet more than once. He also found himself at the centre of the biggest clash in The Chase, which saw the Ghanaian getting his first Strike in the game and saw Tanzania's Nando being Disqualified.

But throughout it all he showed himself to be a man with a good head on his shoulders. In his time in the House; he also had the hearts of the ladies of Africa skipping a beat, thanks to his stylish fashion sense.

Cleo 'Ice Queen' takes the silver price for Big Brother Africa The Chase

Tonight has proven once and for all that Africa is all about girl power! The two top spots in The Chase finale have been snapped up by Ruby ladies, Cleo and Dillish.

This evening saw Nigeria's Beverly and Melvin being Evicted as the fifth and fourth Finalists, respectively. When Ghana's Elikem became the third Housemate to make a fashionable exit from the Ruby House, this left Zambia's Cleo and Namibia's Dillish to face off for the USD 300 000 Grand Prize.

The anticipation that had been building all night long in the House was so thick that you could cut through it with a butter knife. The two ladies and Africa were finally put out of their misery, when IK announced the Zambian rapper as the runner up.

This is by no means a small feat for the petite entertainer, although she is not walking away with the Grand Prize tonight but she is still a winner by all accounts. After all she managed to beat out 26 other Housemates to get this far and she also managed to find romance in the House with Zimbabwe's Hakeem, with whom she was reunited with tonight.

Dillish Wins Big Brother Africa, The Chase

After expressing her desires to be the first woman to win the Big Brother grand prize since Zambia's Cherise did so seven seasons ago, Dillish has done it for all of Africa's women!

The gorgeous Namibian started her Chase race as the proverbial underdog and was labeled everything from lazy to a pampered princess. As the Chase rolled on however, Dillish quickly emerged as a very strong contender for the Chase title and won her fellow Housemates and Africa over, with her quirky, accented alter ego, aptly titled Princess Dillish.

The Namibian made sure to stay away from trouble and coasted through the Chase by taking her place behind the scenes. While her fellow Housemates got themselves into hot water, fighting and gossiping their way to what they hoped was the top of the mountain, Dillish remained grounded and maintained cordial relations with her fellow Housemates.

Abeiku Santana ( @AbeikuSantana ) and Kezia Ashong to host new season of Ghana’s Most Beautiful

The 7th edition of one of the celebrated beauty contests inspired by culture and tradition, Ghana’s Most Beautiful, will be launched in Kumasi on Sunday.

It will be on the theme: “Redefining Beauty to Promote National Unity”. Adding splendour and colour to the launch will be the presence of Queenmothers from the Kumasi metropolis and adjoining communities. According to organisers of the reality show, what makes this year’s contest a must-watch event is the huge traditional blend and its new hosts — Dr Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, aka Abeiku Santana of Okay FM, and Kezia Ashong, an actress, who have promised to spice up the programme with some magnificent traditional flavour.

Speaking to The Mirror, Abeiku Santana said Ghanaians were yet to see his knowledge on the different traditions and cultures of Ghana.

“Ghanaians must not only know their traditions but they must also have a clear understanding of the origins of their cultures and traditions. With each contestant representing a region, the contest will promote oneness and national unity,” he said.

Hiplife group, Praye says they are still strong together

After receiving public bashing for weeks, one would have thought that the issue of Selly’s romantic adventures in the Big Brother Africa house would be put to rest. But it seems Selly would have to brace herself for more criticisms. This time, Selly is being rumoured as the cause of an imminent split between her boyfriend Praye Tietia and Eugene Baah, the duo that make up Praye, the popular hiplife music group.

Uncomfirmed reports claim that Eugene is not happy that Selly’s behaviour has had a negative impact on the group’s image. Only last Saturday, Eugene banged the phone on Kwasi Aboagye who had called him on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review programme to enquire about the supposed split.

But speaking with Showbiz last Monday, Praye Tietia, who many believed should be considering whether to stick with his woman or stick with his pal, laughed over the question and described it as the “ wildest rumour” he had heard in recent times.
