Andy aka Father Entertainer, first runner-up of the maiden edition of Mentor, a music reality show by TV3, last Sunday, lamented on Flex on Pluzz, an entertainment show on Pluzz 89.9FM that TV3, the company that discovered him hardly shows his music videos.
“Honestly, I always approach TV3 with my videos but management will only show my videos when they need me to be on shows like 'Music Music' or 'Ghana's Most Beautiful' but on normal days, I don't see my videos being aired on TV3 like the way I expect them to embrace my works. I am saying this because I am their product. I mean they groomed me,” Andy noted.
He said this when he and the winner of the 6th edition of TV3 Mentor, Stone, were hosted by Sammy Flex on 'Flex on Pluzz.' Odarki Andy also added that although he learnt a lot as regards the rudiments and craftsmanship of music while at Mentor, he believed the management of TV3 didn't give him the assistance he needed.
“I think after the show they had to give me a manager, producer or somebody who would catapult me to a higher level but after the show, they left me to go struggle on my own. Funny enough anytime I approach them concerning why they are not showing my videos, they always explain to me that the station is under new management so they have to introduce me to the new management before they can go ahead and do something for me,” he said.“Honestly, I always approach TV3 with my videos but management will only show my videos when they need me to be on shows like 'Music Music' or 'Ghana's Most Beautiful' but on normal days, I don't see my videos being aired on TV3 like the way I expect them to embrace my works. “When you do a show for TV3 do they pay you?” Sammy asked. “No they don't pay me. Maybe it is because I don't ask them for it. Because they discovered me, I keep quiet,” he added. Also on the show, Stone, winner of Mentor VI reality show 2012 disclosed that after Mentor, he feels great sometimes because his journey of being a celebrity and exposing his talent to the world is fifty percent fulfilled. But he also feels sad on certain occasions.
“Personally I don't regret at all joining Mentor but I am sure some friends of mine may be disappointed because I am yet not where they expect me to be. Though immediately after mentor I was supposed to have a recording deal with TV3, it did not happen because of the change in management of the station but in all, I thank God the contract is now active and I have started recording works,” Stone added.
