Nadia Buari Unveiled As Brand Ambassador For Golden Movie Awards

Ghanaian actress Nadia Buari has been unveiled as a brand ambassador for the 2016 edition of Golden Movie Awards.

The announcement was made on Tuesday evening at the launching ceremony for the award at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra where nominations were also released.

According to NMJ Ghana, organisers of the award, it believed in brand association, which is one of the fundamental drivers of Golden Movie Awards thematic values including resilience, transparency and service, embedded in the awards organization.

It was therefore convinced that Nadia Buari is a strong and shining brand to associate with. Hence the decision to add her to the list of its ambassadors.

However, the rest of the ambassadors were not mentioned at the ceremony.

In her acceptance speech, Nadia indicated her readiness to work. However she said she was surprised to have made the list.

“I just want to say a big thank you to NMJ Ghana and everyone here tonight for doing me this great honour. I am very delighted to be an ambassador of the Golden Movie Awards. I must say it is such a surprise but a good one; one that I can’t stop smiling about. Like industries grow, this position comes with a huge responsibility, one that requires a great deal of time and dedication on my part. But I would like to say I am very prepared and ready. I will do whatever it takes putting in the time and effort it requires so that our overall objective of changing African narratives through film will come to fruition. Thank you so much,” she said.

Meanwhile Ghanaians and Nigerians movies dominate this year’s nominations. Top Ghanaian actors; Yvonne Okoro, Juliet Ibrahim, Eddie Nartey, Salma Mumin, Zynnell Zuh, Josleyn Dumas and others including new actress, Ophelia Klenam Dzidzornu were all on the nomination list.

Tuesday release reception was attended by Naa Ashorkor , Grace Omaboe, Socrates Sarfo, Shirley Frimpong Manso, Nikki Samonas, Asare Hackman, Mr. & Mrs. Elikem, Gloria Sarfo and a host of others.
