The Ghanaian entertainment calendar official comes alive in April or May, and it has been so for the past 17 years because of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The road to the biggest event on the GH entertainment calendar began with a call for nominations that ended in January.
This paved the way for the VGMA Board, to begin the categorization and short listing process.
This year the Board received hundreds of entries from well-known artistes and not so well known artistes from different music genres across the length and breadth of the country.
The VGMA Board is a group of industry players with considerable knowledge and experience in the Ghanaian music industry. These group of people have set the stage for the biggest event in Ghana; no event generates more talkability and it is seen by many as the industry’s Holy Grail.
The event which is in its 17th year is what most music lovers have been waiting for, what artistes have been working hard towards and what song writers get creative for.
The commencement of the Board categorization process takes us all a step closer to finding out which artiste, video director, producer and songwriter is worthy of nomination for the biggest and most anticipated event in Ghana.
The 17th Vodafone Ghana Music awards has been set in motion and if indications from organizers are anything to go by, this year’s edition will certainly be the one look forward to.
