GOtv Ghana presented a 100 branded police safety vests to the Ghana Police Traffic Department in Accra as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The vests will assist to increase police visibility when directing traffic and when traffic lights are not working.
Presenting the vests, Mr. Nii Amah Dagadu, Regional Marketing Manager of MultiChoice West & Central Africa, said that making this contribution would bring about significant change in the countries road traffic woes.
“ The business felt the need to assist the Traffic Department with safety vests at a time that it is most needed, following the recent electricity fluctuations which have left pedestrians and drivers alike stranded at traffic lights for hours. Not only will the safety vests help the public but it will also protect the police as well”
DCOP Angwubutoge Awuni, Director General of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), Public Affairs, Ghana Police Service, expressed his gratitude to GOtv for supporting the department maintains a level of order on the countries roads. He added; “the vests would be distributed to all the various traffic departments to help them do their duties effectively”.
