QUEEN of gospel Rebecca Malope and seven other top local artists have been billed to perform in a weekend long event in Zimbabwe at the end of this month.
The contingent will be one of the biggest number of South Africans performing at the same event out of the country since 1994.
Malope, along with the Village Pope Tsepo Tshola, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Lusanda Spiritual Music Group led by Lusanda Mgcina and her son Bethusile as well as Tsepiso Motaung and Dumi Mkokstad will perform over three days in Zimbabwe’s Gwanda township in the Matebeleland South Province.
Stoane Seate, who will be one of the MCs of the three-day extravaganza, completes the line-up of local artists who will perform in Zimbabwe. The main purposes of the event is to celebrate the official opening of the newly-built Gwanda Brethren In Christ Church.

As part of the holy celebrations, the artists, together with leading Zimbabwean artists such as Judith Moyo, will perform at two festivals at the Phelindaba Stadium in Gwanda as a build up to the official celebrations of opening the church.

Friday, 28 August 2015 – Music Festival at Phelindaba Stadium from 5:00pm till late;
Saturday, 29 August 2015 – Music Festival at Phelindaba Stadium from 5:00pm till late;
Sunday, 30 August 201 5 – Official Opening of Gwanda Brethren In Christ from 10:00am till 2:00pm.
