Bass Awards Returns This Year

It’s back, bigger and better! It’s the 2015 edition of the BASS Awards, an annual awards scheme to celebrate and award musicians and other stakeholders within the African Reggae and Dancehall space for putting out great works within the year under review.

In its third year, BASS Awards is the only awards scheme dedicated to Reggae and Dancehall with the ultimate aim of developing and promoting the Reggae and Dancehall genres and also making its musicians the biggest and most respected across the globe.

In light of this, organizers of the awards scheme, Solid Multimedia and Bullhaus Entertainment has this week announced the theme for this year’s edition of the awards - “Still We Rise”, to reflect the focus of the awards this year.

In a statement, Ezekiel Tetteh, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Solid Multimedia stated that “With the support of our partners,we have succeeded in introducing BASS Awards and have made an impact within the arts and entertainment industry across Africa in the last two years.

This year, we will focus heavily on the essence of building structures within the industry and also build the capacities of musicians and other professionals to ensure they take advantage of all possible avenues and opportunities available to them in addition to projecting themselves into the mainstream music scene”.

In addition, Mr. Tetteh said “the future looks very bright for us as organizers considering the fact that Dancehall has been the most sought after genre in recent times. This is evident when it comes to musicians making the headlines every week across Africa and the rest of the world”.

According to the organizers, they will soon be publishing the calendar for this year’s edition and also commence the process for this year’s event by rolling out the nominations phase where they will give opportunity to the general public to nominate their favorite musicians to be part of the event.
