Popular Ghanaian TV series, Things We Do For Love, which aired between the year 2000 and 2004 on GTV, would forever be etched on the minds of the numerous Ghanaians who avidly watched it.
Things We Do For Love, directed by Ivan Quashigah, was a thirty (30) minute weekly TV series centred on the youth and their ways of life. The brain behind the series was to sensitise the Ghanaian populace on HIV/AIDS and how to combat this deadly venereal disease, which was then spreading like Ebola.
The Things We Do For Love series had interesting characters like Pusher, Max, Killer, Shaker, BB, High Priest, et al who held viewers spellbound every time the show was on. To say that gobs of Ghanaians followed it religiously will be stating the obvious.
While some of the Things We Do For Love cast (viz. Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah & Adjetey Annan aka Pusher) still continue to grace the silver-screen, others just decided to stay away from the limelight.
One of such actors who abruptly disappeared from the acting scene is the very beauteous light-skinned girl who played the popular character called Dede in the series. She played the character very well that the name, Dede, became her sobriquet. Suffice it to say that her real name went kaput!
She was one of the actresses tipped by many cinematic buffs and connoisseurs to take over the Ghana movie industry. But just after the end of the Things We Do For Love TV series, the ravishing half-caste decided to take a quiet seat, and since then nothing has been heard about her.
She wowed us with her beauty and bad girl attitude in the early 2000s on the popular TV series, ‘Things We Do For Love’. But as enigmatic as her character in the series, ‘Dede’ vanished from the TV and movie scenes while colleagues like Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah and Adjetey Annan blossomed into movie stars known across the globe

So where is the ‘Dede’ most young guys fancied so much on the screens? Cypress Ghana did some digging and has reported the following:
Dede real name Alice Schreyer is now based in London. The pretty lady with a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother studied Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Ghana in 2003, after her degree programme at the University, she worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Nutrition and Food Science Department before relocating to the United Kingdom to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education, Leadership and Management at the Roehampton University.
The one-time pretty actress then enrolled at the Kingston University. She works and dwells in London but visits Ghana as and when the need arises. That’s it for all you Dede fans, the lovely damsel is hale and hearty but not into media stuff anymore.
