New Cape Coast Stadium To Be Commissioned On 3rd May

The newly built ultra -modern and multipurpose sports stadium in Cape Coast will be commissioned on Tuesday, 3rd May, 2016.

The stadium constructed by a Chinese firm, Jiangxi Cooperation for International Economic and Technical Cooperation will be officially commissioned by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Mahama.

The New Cape Coast stadium with 15,000 capacity is equipped to serve a multi sports events with inbuilt basket ball court, long tennis court, hockey pitch, a gym, titan tracks(for athletics) and boxing arena.

The commissioning of the stadium will span from Tuesday, 3rd to Wednesday 4th May with various activities to climax the official opening. The lined-up activities will include a friendly soccer match between the Black Satellites and the Chinese national U-19 team, a musical performances and cultural performances among others.


In attendance will be H.E John Dramani Mahama, the president of Ghana, Chinese Ambassador to Ghana H.E Sun Baohong, the President of Gabon, Ali Bongo Ondimba Hon. Kweku Wricketts, the Central Regional Minister, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, Minister for Youth and Sports among others.

The entire country, specifically Central Region, is invited to grace the occasion on Tuesday, 3rd May, at the newly built sports stadium.
