NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2015 BASS AWARDS !!!

Management of Solid Multimedia, organizers of Bass Awards, an annual awards scheme dedicated to Reggae and Dancehall music, in conjunction with Bullhaus Entertainment have announced the commencement of nominations for the 2015 edition of the awards.

According to the organizers, the 2015 Bass Awards nomination forms is available at the offices of Solid Multimedia (Adabraka), 4Syte TV Studios (Zongo Junction) and Viasat 1 Ghana (Labone). The 2015 edition of the awards is open to musicians with songs released between 1st December 2014 and 31st August 2015.

As in previous editions, there is a total of twenty one (21) categories to be awarded with one being a Lifetime Achievement Awards to celebrate a legend who has contributed enormously towards the development of Reggae and Dancehall over the years. 

The categories include Artiste of the Year (Kwame Nkrumah Award), Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Reggae Artiste of the Year, Best Alternative Reggae/Dancehall Song (Gospel), Dancehall Song of the Year, Reggae Song of the Year, Best Collaboration (Reggae), Best Collaboration (Dancehall), Record of the Year (Yaa Asantewaa Award) and Producer of the Year. Others are Music Video of the Year (Reggae), Music Video of the Year (Dancehall), Best Male Vocal Artiste, Best Female Vocal Artiste, Lifetime Achievement Award, Discovery of the Year, Best Performer, Album of the Year (Reggae/Dancehall), Best Songwriter, Best African Act and Lifetime Achievement Award (Reggae/Dancehall).

Commenting on the nominations for the 2015 edition of the awards, Mr. Ezekiel Tetteh, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Solid Multimedia encouraged all Reggae and Dancehall musicians to be part of the awards this year to be awarded and also celebrated for their outstanding works during the calendar year.

“It’s once again that time of the year when we give the opportunity to musicians, record labels as well as their representatives to submit their works to be part of the only awards scheme with the aim of taking Reggae and Dancehall musicians as well as their music to the next level.

After the introduction of Bass Awards, Dancehall musicians have taken over the Ghanaian music space and Dancehall has become the leading and most sought after music genre in the country with the likes of Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy winning the ultimate awards in Ghana and beyond”.
