Best Female and Best Video contender, Tahliah Debrett Barnett, known by the stage name FKA Twigs, has been billed to perform at this year’s Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.
FKA Twigs is a British singer, songwriter, producer and dancer. Born and raised in Gloucestershire, she became a backup dancer after moving to London when she was 17 years old.
Twigs first entered the music industry with the release of her extended plays EP1 (2012) and EP2 (2013). Her debut studio album LP1 (2014) was released to universal acclaim from critics, peaking at number 16 on the UK Albums Chart and number 30 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Her third extended play, M3LL155X, was released on 13 August 2015.
The singer, who recently released her critically-acclaimed EP M3LL155X, is expected to treat audience to an incredible performance of one of the tracks from the project.

This year’s categories feature the likes of Jme, Krept and Konan, FKA Twigs, Skepta, Stormzy, and Lianne La Havas in the running for awards. Each category will be open for public vote from October 1, 2015 with the exception of Best Grime Act, which will take place through the BBC Radio 1Xtra website on October 10, 2015.
