Ghanaian hiplife artist, Kwaw Kese and his team will be at the Rawlings Circle today to raise money to help achieve Kwaw Kese Foundation 20 year development Plan.
Kwaw has called on fans and the general public to support saying, “Please let us all donate 1gh to help change our prisons since no one knows tomorrow.”
The rapper recently launched the “Kwaw Kese Foundation” to administer a 20 year Development Project for Ghana’s prisons service. The elaborate twenty year development project was set up to respond to issues of substance abuse and congestion in the Ghanaian prisons. It follows his recent arrest for smoking cannabis. He was sentenced to a day’s imprisonment and also fined GHc1,200.00.
Kwaw Kese and his team are hoping to give most of Ghana’s prisons the needed infrastructure injection. He explained his motives during the launch last week saying:
“I am sure most of you have heard or watched the ‘locked and forgotten’ documentary which exposed the true state of our prisons in Ghana. It is from experience that I assure you that the situation is more devastating than it can ever be told in a documentary.
