Asa Baako Launches Talent Search With Reggie Rockstone & More

“Creative Black Star” is working with top celebrities and creative agencies to find Ghana’s emerging creative talents. 

The Asa Baako – One Dance music and arts festival is offering emerging creative people the opportunity to get their work seen by the best in the business, have their work profiled to a national audience and be recognised as Ghana’s emerging creative talents.

Competition winners, from four categories – Photography/Film, Design, Fashion and Music will have their work profiled to a national audience and be recognised as Ghana’s emerging creative talents.

The competition opens on 15th June 2015 and closes on 15th July 2015.

Judges include Reggie Rockstone (Music), Panji Anoff (Music), Maryanne Mathias of Osei Duro (Fashion), Molly Keogh of Osei Duro (Fashion), Alice Grau of Global Mamas (Fashion), Abrima Erwiah of Studio 189 (Fashion), Mina Evans (Fashion), Nana Kofi Acquah (Photography), Nyani Quarmyne (Photography), Eric Don Arthur (Photography), Ato Annan (Design), Nii Noi Dowuona (Design) and Francis Yushau Brown (Film).

Asa Baako co-founder and director, Kofi Debrah, said “It’s no secret that Ghana has a rich legacy of arts and creativity. Creative Black Star aims to help release the potential of aspiring creative talents across Ghana, adding to the continued reinvigoration of Ghana’s creative economy; helping to provide jobs, increase trade, promote citizenship and raise national pride.”
To enter, applicants must submit samples of their work on the Asa Baako Facebook page www.facebook.com/asabaako or email them to info@asabaako.com. Submissions will then be shortlisted based on the number of Facebook likes they get. The top 5 liked in each category progress to the judging panel to select the final winners.
