[PHOTOS] Juliet Ibrahim (@julietibrahim) Marks World Kidney Day With ‘Awareness Walk’ On The Street Of Accra

Kidney disease is increasing dramatically and the cost of treating this growing epidemic represents an enormous burden on healthcare systems globally.

The Juliet Ibrahim Foundation took to the street of Accra on World Kidney Day to educate the public on the symptoms and causes of Kidney Cancer.

Taking steps to live a healthy lifestyle clearly helps to reduce risk, and early detection and treatment can slow or prevent the progression of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD).

Drink to satisfy thirst - water is the recommended fluid! In an interview with the actress, she said “Fresh supplies of fluid are needed every day for our kidney's normal functions; however, there is no set amount to drink each day to avoid dehydration.

Therefore water cannot cure Kidney cancer.” Team J.I.F and the Verna Mineral Water crew took their time to explain to illiterates the texts on the fliers/handouts.

This year the Juliet Ibrahim Foundation Awareness Walk was sponsored by Rigimed and Verna Mineral Water. Free bottled water was given to pedestrians as a recommended fluid!

Water is the recommended fluid to satisfy thirst and is nature's choice. It is calorie-free, inexpensive and readily available and choosing to drink water instead will have a positive impact on your health.”

Start your day with a glass of water as a symbolic gesture of support for World Kidney Day, to remember that you should care for your kidneys, a vital organ for life.
Take a simple, creative or crazy 'selfie' of you drinking water, or as a group !!!
