Konica Minolta Introduces Digital Printing Machines Into The Ghanaian Market

One of the leading brands in digital print solutions, Konica Minolta, has announced its presence in Ghana by introducing the finest of its products into the market at an exhibition held in Accra.

The event which was organized in conjunction with the company’s preferred partner and sole representative in the country, Skysat Technologies, showcased an array of office documentations and print production machines.

The two-day event which was held from January 29-30, 2015 also included live demonstrations and presentations on how the digital print machines work. It was the first in a series of exhibitions organized by the two firms to promote digital print solutions in Ghana.

The machines, according to company officials, are well engineered, easy to operate and maintain, and moderately priced in the A4 to A3+ size printing from 18 pages per minute to 125 pages per minute.

The machines come with features like secure print, banner print, scan to folder, scan to USB drive, and user authentication which helps the detailed user analysis. One could also allocate the print budget. They also come with finishing functions that enables comparable finishing functions like, folding, stapling, stitching, punching, perfect binding and letter head.




The Managing Director of Skysat Technologies, Izzat Debs, commenting on the products said the machines are suitable for the production of high quality office documents, letter heads, security documents, examinations papers, newsletters and magazines at a high speed.

“The plan is to improve the quality of office documentation print production using State of the Art technology and solutions that are highly efficient, affordable, durable and easy to operate”.

He added “it is expected that this will lead to the establishment of a number of digital print shops across Ghana which will immensely contribute to the creation of employment for young people and the socio-economic development of the country”.

He said Skysat Technologies plan to put in place a robust sale and after sales technical support team that would help replicate its Nigeria success story in Ghana.

The Business Support Manager of Konica Minolta, North and East Africa, Paul Tim, also commenting on the event said the products had come to stay and would pursue all avenues to help promote it become a household name in Ghana.



The National President of the Ghana Printers and Paper Converters Association, James Appiah-Berko, on his part said innovation and solution finding are bedfellows and that telephony and printing are various aspects of technology that have helped lessen the problems of communications in a much convenient way.

“Konica Minolta is not a technology that brings shivers down our spine but something that puts smiles on our faces”, he said. Adding “the hope of the printing industry is that digital printing is the trend and that Konica Minolta is the machine for the print”.











Mr. Obokhai added: “The entire process of Konica Minolta machine and networking involves that you don’t use too many machines because, for example, if you are a corporate [firm] that has about four floors you can actually put one machine in one location and dummies that you can print from anywhere without the connection of cables.”
