AGYA KOO GRANTED BAIL

Popular actor and comedian Agya Koo has been granted bail in the sum of GHc20,000 with two sureties to reappear, Tuesday.

Agya Koo, known in real life as Kofi Adu, was arrested last Friday and spent three nights behind bars after he reported to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters in Accra following allegations of fraud against him.

One Mr Kwarteng filed a report of fraud against Agya Koo that he had taken an amount of GHc3,800 from him with the promise of helping him travel to the United States of America.

13 more people also reported to the police that the comedian had defrauded each of them of an amount of $1,850 also with promises of securing US visas for them.
Agya Koo was represented in court, Monday by a team of four lawyers, Mac-Diamond Kodjo Emekor Nyamekor, Naomi Nelson Coffie, Augustina Asafo Agyei and Capt. (rtd) Nkrabeah Effah Darte as the lead counsel.

Capt. (rtd) Effah Dartey narrated to Hitz Entertainment News that the case was called but adjourned because the prosecutor, DSP Mary Agbozo had problems with the charge sheet.

“I asked the court in that instance to admit him to bail and the court graciously agreed and admitted him to bail,” he concluded.
