The 2017 edition of Miss Universe Ghana was launched at the Carbon Night Club, Airport City on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Menaye Donkor, owner of MALZ Promotions and Miss Universe Ghana 2004 was officially introduced as the new franchise owner and National Director of the beauty pageant in Ghana.

She revealed that this year’s edition will be held on September 2, 2017 in Accra.

Applications are being accepted now for review by a panel. The application process is simple. Prospective applicants must complete and submit the entry form on the official Miss Universe Ghana Pageant website www.missuniverseghanaorg.com.

Applications are open to Ghanaian women living in Ghana and throughout the diaspora between the ages of 18 and 28 years, who will be eligible to compete for the ultimate chance to represent Ghana in the global competition.

The women who compete in the Miss Universe competition must embody the modern, global aspiration for the potential within all women. The Miss Universe Ghana team believe that this is what true beauty personifies.

“Representing Ghana in the Miss Universe competition is such an important honor for a young woman especially this year as Ghana celebrated it’s 60 year of independence.

The Miss Universe competition provides a platform to showcase to the world the best of Ghana- our beauty, style, fashion, culture, and brilliance,” says Mrs. Muntari, an entrepreneur and philanthropist who won the Miss Universe Ghana title in 2004 and went on to represent Ghana at Miss Universe in Quito, Ecuador.

“Miss Universe has opened a lot of doors for me,” said Mrs Menaye Donkor Muntari during the launch. “having this licence as the new Director for Miss Universe Ghana 2017 is such an amazing feeling… I was once a title holder representing Ghana internationally and I feel that it is my objective to assist the next title holder to make Ghana proud and represent Ghana internationally at the Miss Universe level.”

Bola Ray, Sulley Muntari, Benny Blanco, Yvonne Okoro, Victoria Michaels and Deborah Vanessa were some of the public figures who attended the launch. It was hosted by Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD).

The Miss Universe Organization is built on a foundation of inclusion and continues to celebrate the diversity of women.

Ten thousand young women around the world participate in Miss Universe pageant events annually. The mission of the organization is to provide the tools which help women to be their personal best.
