The Blue Light District, was created by " TIGO Ghana ", as an avenue for customers and potential customers to experience the Tigo brand and its newly improved high speed internet, through exciting activities.
It was a day of exciting contest among video game players, when the Tigo Blue Light District FIFA Tournament took place on Saturday at the Achimota Retail Centre in Accra on Saturday April 29th, 2017.
Following the keenly contended competition, Frank Adotey Kpakpo, also known as ‘WonderKid’ emerged as the ultimate winner. He took home a lip-smacking cash prize of GHS2,500 while Yaw Boakye, the first runner-up won GHS1,500. Emmanuel Lawson and Kenneth Robinson Larbi took home GHS700 and GHS300 for placing third and fourth respectively.
Among the games which were staged during the day were table tennis and mini football. To add up to the blue light district experience, patrons also had the opportunity to take three (3) pictures with props which were printed out automatically. They also had to buy at least GHS2 credit to gain access to the free WIFI code.

A mini concert was also staged and it was graced by Ghanaian reggae/dancehall musicians Epixode and Jupitar with exciting performances. Starr FM’s Award-winning disc jockey, DJ Vyrusky was the man on the deck to get people in the groove.
However, opportunity was given to upcoming musicians to display their craft. This saw a number of acts mount the stage to express their talent, with highlights being T – Rhyme, Kofi LIL, among others.
Interested shoppers also had the chance to explore the goods market, which had exhibitions from notable brands like, Kandy’s Smoothies, Nallem Clothing, Wild Cherry, Bata Shoes, MV Accessories, and Slay Cosmetic.
