PEINI NOMINATED AS BEST MADE IN GHANA PRODUCTS FOR 2017 GUBA AWARDS

Peini, the socially conscious cosmetic brand that produces 100% organic products for skin and hair from naturally sourced oils and agro-products indigenous to Ghana and Africa has been nominated for the 2017 GUBA (Ghana UK Based Achievement) Made In Ghana Products Awards.

GUBA is a non-profit Business & Innovation Awards instituted to celebrate, acknowledge, and support business people, celebrities and proud citizens with a shared passion for Ghana as well as individual and collective achievements in the UK’s vibrant Ghanaian community.

Peini which launched in 2012, has been sold worldwide at major retail outlets in Ghana and online in the US, Canada, and UK via Amazon.com. “It is an honor to be recognized by GUBA for our efforts producing a brand that truly represents the richness of Ghana-- our products, traditions and culture with premium cosmetics.

Our vision of world class quality and standards for both product and packaging is one of Peini’s key differentiators and we will continue to explore advancements in the processing, usage and ultimately the economic value of shea and other products indigenous to Ghana” says Yaw Adu Gyamfi Poku, the chemical engineer, social entrepreneur and founder of Peini.
Peini has been nominated as one of 10 companies in the Made in Ghana Products category this year. The public is encouraged to vote for nominees that will ultimately be awarded the 2017 GUBA Made in Ghana Product of the Year and will join past GUBA Award winners including Vodafone, Kwabena Adisi aka Bola Ray, Dr. Osei Kwame, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, Idris Elba, and Fuse ODG.

“Peini’s passion and commitment to community is in alignment with the GUBA Foundation’s 'Closing the Gap - Infant Mortality' project which aims to help reduce the infant mortality rate among Africans.

In addition to procuring and sourcing ingredients from socially conscious sources and working with widows, orphans and subsistence women farmers to extend the local value chain and provide sustainable markets for local output, Peini has been involved in programs to eradicate and prevent infant malaria with the distribution of its natural shea based Insect Repellent in Ghana’s rural and impoverished communities,”adds Poku who was recently recognized by Coca Cola as one of 60 Young Leaders in Ghana.

Voting for the shortlisting of nominees in each category will end on the 20th April. The final 5 shortlisted will be announced at the Ghana Launch on the 21st of April 2017 while the winner is announced at the main event in London on the 3rd June 2017.
