SHATTA WALE IS NOT GHANA'S DANCEHALL KING – STONEBWOY

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy known in real life as Livingstone Etse Setekla, says Shatta Wale can’t claim the tittle, ‘Dance Hall King’ in Ghana.

According to him, Shatta Wale’s claim to be the dancehall king in Ghana is baseless. “I don’t believe anyone has been crowned the dance hall king in Ghana” the BET award winner said on the Delay Show.

He added that he is not perturbed about Shatta Wale’s professes but wants people to be aware of the fact that they are mere rhetoric.

Buttressing his point, he said a Ghana Dancehall King competition organized by some Jamaicans was help at the Labadi Beach in 2010 to select the biggest dancehall artist in the country. The completion featured him, Shatta Wale, Iwan, Fiifi Sela among others. After the competition he was adjudged the first followed by Shatta Wale in second position.

“I remember that I won dancehall king in 2010 when I went tow to tow with Bandana (Shatta Wale). I was first and he (Shatta Wale) came second. I have the certificate”.

He believes if there is someone to be recognized as the dancehall King it should be him and not Shatta Wale. Stonebwoy added that, the dance hall genre originated from Jamiaca where no one has claimed to be a king of it, “It is the music, funs and people you want to affect”.
