EDEM DESERVES ARTISTES OF THE YEAR - SOME INDUSTRY PLAYERS

Ahead of the main show down of the 16th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, VGMA, in April 11th, some industry players and technocrats have tipped music genius, Edem to win the top most award, thus the Artiste of the year.

According to them, the time is due for Edem’s hard work over the years to be recognized as he keeps raising the levels both in music and his videos.

These individuals shortly after the launch of the event on Friday at the posh La Palm Royal Beach Hotel expressed their view on Edem dazzling at the nominees unveil, as he clocked 9 nominations.

As American Statesman, Collin Powel said, “Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence”.

Expressing their views, they noted that this has been the hallmark of one of the country’s finest and industrious hiplife prodigy, who has devoted his time ensuring works he churn out is extra among the ordinary.

As a result of this stupendous effort yearly, Edem’s hard work has finally been recognized, as he bagged 9 nominations in this year’s grand launch of the nation’s most prestigious awards scheme, Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which is aimed at rewarding creativity and hard work amongst musicians.

It was an awe-inspiring moment at the launch, as Edem’s name kept running through 9 categories namely, Artiste of the year, Hip pop Artiste of the year, Vodafone song of the year, Best rapper, Best Collaboration of the year, Best Music Video, Album of the year, and Hip life/Hip pop song of the year.

To this end, some industry players at event were of the view that the feat chalked by Edem was an exhibition of the consistency, relevance and hard work throughout the year under review, coupled with the positive standards the music dynamo sets in his song for the youth in the society.

The Keone Hit maker dropped about 6 exceptional music videos in the year under review, which was highly praised by technocrats, stakeholders in the Arts industry and Ghanaians in general.

Due to the synergy laced with inspirational lyrics in his composition, he caught the attention of World reputable media house, British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, as he was made to share with the whole universe, the mystic behind his success.

As parts of efforts to ensure quality works, Edem historically gathered stakeholders in the industry to first listen and make an input to his popular album “Books and Rhymes” which at the end of the day made the cut to the Album of the year, during the launch of the VGMA.

Aside this superb works, he graced almost the relevant shows in the year under review, which he raised the bar and made things difficult for artistes who were to perform after him.

These laced with his philanthropy and humility has won him countless admirers.

Edem , since his emergence unto the music scene in 2009 has remained a strong force to reckon with in the industry.
