The annual Citi FM Music of Ghana Origin (MOGO) Festival will start on Saturday March 21st, at Mantse Agbonaa, Jamestown with the Accra Music Expo.
The weeklong event will bring together some of the finest musicians and bands in Ghana and Africa to thrill audiences on the various stages.
The MOGO Festival begins with the Accra Music Expo, a special event focused on celebrating and promoting indigenous Ga music, and will be climaxed with the MOGO Awards.
The Accra Music Expo will be a huge open air party with the likes of Tinny, Adane Best, Dzajeloi and a host of others taking their turn to thrill patrons at Mantse Agbonaa – Jamestown.
There will be a strong representation of the various Ga Adangbe communities by music groups who are all set to compete in the special MOGO Festival Jama Competition.
The Accra Music Expo will be the curtain raiser for the Night with Highlife Greats series, fromMonday, March 23 to Wednesday, March 25 at the Alisa Hotel.
The legendary Nana Ampadu, Ben Brako and Paapa Yankson will each take turns to depict vivid pictures of their lives' stories, interact with music lovers and to entertain them with their music on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.
On Friday March 27th, Ghana will get groovy with the African Jazz Jamboree (Jazz’in the Citi). The event will bring together a host of Africa’s most captivating jazz musicians – Gyedu Blay Ambolley, George Spratz, Aka Blay, Kollaboration, Constant Boty and B.B.
