Just In : TV AFRICA SIGNS ON TO GOtv GHANA PLATFORM

GOtv has signed a partnership agreement with Ghanaian TV station, TV Africa to launch the channel on the GOtv DTT platform in readiness for Ghana’s digital migration.

This development comes after GOtv Ghana signed on Ghana’s first local music-dedicated channel, FiestaGH (GOtv channel 73), as part of its drive to give Ghanaians the best African and Ghanaian entertainment possible.

TV Africa is a fully Ghanaian-owned, private local television station whose long-term objective is ‘to play an effective role in the development of communications as a major instrument for nation building and a vital element in the socio-economic development process.

TV Africa transmits high quality programs on education, development, culture and current affairs with a focus on Ghana and the African continent. 

TV Africa’s availability on GOtv will put the GOtv TV service in a unique position to promote the rich Ghanaian culture and to become the home of premier African film and television content. 

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, General Manager for MultiChoice Ghana said, “We want to keep giving our customers more local entertainment choices. TV Africa is a great Ghanaian channel which will appeal to all our customers.

With the advent of digital migration, we are also keen on ensuring that we have adequate local content on our platforms and we believe this channel is a good step in that direction. TV Africa is the first of several local channels that will be signed on to compliment the great content that already sits on GOtv”.

Mr. Kwaw Paintsil Ansah, Managing Director of TV Africa added: “Our aim has always been to bring Africa to as many viewers as possible so that they finally appreciate the wonders of our continent.” Ansah also stated that TV Africa celebrates the true spirit, the creative mind and abounding talent of the African and that he was excited by the additional reach the partnership would give TV Africa’s programming.

GOtv is now available in 9 cities; Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Takoradi, Obuasi, Sunyani, Tamale and Koforidua and Cape Coast across, 7 regions, bringing quality entertainment to many Ghanaians across the country.
