Merqury Republic, the brain behind the prestigious Ghana DJ Awards; an award scheme aimed at appreciating Disc Jockeying in the country is breathing real life in the business and operators with its “Pub Tour” program.The Pub Tour is designed to throw a spotlight on amazing pub DJs at the various Pubs and leisure centers across the country who hardly get recognition for the great work they are doing; entertaining thousands of people during weekends, especially.
The GHANA DJ Awards Pub tour has since its commencement on October 16th visited highly patronized pubs in Accra including Karldof, Regy's, Azonto's Pub and Samini's Dancestardom.
With over 50 Pubs lined up for the tour including the newly opened X5 in Kumasi, Crisberry, Jessies, Container and Verbs, the tour will invade major pubs accross the country ahead of the third edition of the annual Ghana DJ Awards, to be held in 2015.
Within two weeks since the tour kicked off, talented DJs including DJ Mac Tontoh, DJ Ruddolf, DJ Shaka, DJ Trigger, DJ Gunshot, DJ Atopa and DJ Blessing have been discovered by the Awards faculty.
In an exclusive interview with iNewsGhana.Com, Ghana GJ Awards boss; Merqury Quaye expressed excitement about the tour, indicating that it has really been a success thus far. He added that the tour is effectively placing the DJs in a very special way, adding value to them and getting them appreciated.
