Guinness officially launched the campaign on August 27th on a number of television stations simultaneously.

The company had initially named Fuse ODG, Shatta Wale, and E.L. as the ambassadors for the campaign.

Reggie Rockstone, ‘Grandfather’ of hip-life was later introduced as a surprise addition to the #madeofblack ambassador line up.  Reggie, like all those who are #madeofblack, is certainly leaving his mark and is an inspiration to millions of creative and talented individuals across Ghana and the African continent.

At the event, Judith Osei Ampofo, Ag Marketing Director reiterated, “Guinness is creating a social movement with a new generation of Ghanaians and Africans whose boldness cannot be contained and who are fuelling a new, progressive spirit of Ghana and Africa. Guinness is celebrating these people through #madeofblack”.

The Guinness #madeofblack campaign celebrates Ghanaians who aren’t afraid to express themselves and who are carving their own path in life and leaving their mark.

Speaking at the unveiling on Saturday, Fuse ODG said “Guinness is celebrating the individuals across Ghana who share the #madeofblack attitude. We’re asking real people who have a boldness that can’t be contained, to join the movement and tell us what they’re made of at www.madeofblack.com . I am very excited to be involved in the campaign and honoured to be working alongside such inspirational artists as Reggie Rockstone, Shatta Wale and E.L. I am made of passion, I am #madeofblack, what are you made of?  Share the attitude.”

Reggie Rockstone commented:  “I welcome the Guinness #madeofblack campaign that shines a light on and celebrates those who are carving their own path and through their flair and imagination are leaving their mark. I am Reggie Rockstone, I am made of staying power, I am made of hip-life, I am #madeofblack. Join the movement.”

Shatta Wale added, “It is very exciting to be a part of this movement which is being talked about all over Ghana. Guinness has given a great opportunity to every Ghanaian who has the confidence to rewrite the rules and carve their own path in life. I am Shatta Wale. I have and keep carving my own path and rewriting the rules. I am #madeofblack.”

E.L. on his part indicated, “I am privileged to be involved in such a campaign because I truly believe I am made of black. I am E.L., I challenge myself and ask why not. I am made of ambition. I am #madeofblack.”

In conclusion, the acting Marketing Director said “the four ambassadors will lead the conversation with their own #madeofblack selfie videos, in which they ask Ghana 'what are you made of?'”
