A spokesperson for the Washington Post has made it clear that the paper will not publish a wild claim that the pop star and the president are having an affair. The announcement comes after the respected French newspaper Le Figaro alleged that the Post would be breaking the story on Feb. 10th.
This is how rumors get started! French photographer Pascal Rostain, who is friends with former French First Lady Carla Bruni, claimed President Obama and Beyonce were having an affair, saying: ”[The story will] go out tomorrow [Tuesday, Feb. 11] in the Washington Post . . . I can assure you that the world will talk about it.”
“We should not forget Marilyn [Monroe] or Monica Lewinsky. You can be the president of the first world power — that doesn’t make you any less a man,” Pascal added.
Thankfully, a spokesperson for thePost dismissed the claim in an email to Poynter.com, saying, ”It’s definitely not true.”

Beyonce and Jay Z are close friends of the Obamas. In fact, the reigning power couple of pop were just honored guests at Michelle Obama‘s 50th birthday celebration in January. Queen Bey and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, 2, even bonded with a new furry friend at the bash — Sunny the First Dog!
President Obama and Michelle celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary last October, while B and Jay have been married for nearly six years.
