Brainna talks about signing with Bullhaus Entertainment, getting advice from NaturalFace and not using any of his label mates as yardsticks.

Bullhaus Entertainment new Signee Brainna, talks about meeting his dream label, getting advice from now label mate NaturalFace and not using any of his label mates including dancehall acts Shatta Wale, NaturalFace and Iwan as yardsticks to measure himself.

Who is Brainna?

I am Koodi Ebenezer, last of six children my parents had. I was born on December 23rd in the 90′s in Korlegono. This is my seventh year when it comes to when I realized music was my thing but actively I have been doing it close to two years now.

I was called Agent before I changed over to Brainna. I am Ga Adangbe and Fante. Brainna simply means smart and intelligent and that’s what I portray in my music.

So how did you meet Bullhaus Entertainment?

Linkin is the one who made the connect for me to get unto the BullHaus label. I have worked with many other engineers but he heard me understand me better and made it happen. I went to Linkin to record my mixtape Raving and he told me he knew Bulldog and will let them know about me. Months later, it happened and here am I now on the label and loving it.
Why Dancehall music?

Dancehall became my thing just recently. I used to be a Rhytms and Blues person with a dream of being a big R&B star but after listening to some Dancehall music, I felt it I will do better doing Dancehall and so started researching and learning the culture and after hearing myself after some of the songs I recorded, I was convinced I could if I put in more effort.

Bullhaus has Shatta Wale, Natural Face, VIP and Iwan… have you met the crew?

I have met only NaturalFace. But I’m yet to meet the rest of the artists and I look forward to it. NaturalFace told me how to behave in the industry and I felt I learnt a lot after meeting him and I look forward to meeting and learning from the rest of the artists.

Do you feel any pressure considering these names?

I don’t feel any pressure. I am doing what I feel is right. I am not using anyone as a yardstick to how good I can be. I am measuring how well I am doing with the last song I did at every point in time and that is what I have been told will make me more confident to be the sort after Dancehall artist I dream to be.

I am open to learn and to put all that I learn into my recordings to produce songs people will love.

So how far with recordings?

I have recorded about hundred songs now but “On and On – Raving” and “Happy New Year” were chosen as my introductory songs to the fans of BullHaus Entertainment because it was a celebratory month and a New Year season.

What do you do apart from music now?

I am learning software Engineering  at NIIT and I understand music is more than piecing words together to entertain, it’s relating to people, making yourself someone others will like to connect to and more and I think that’s what my life as a student now teaches me and I use same principles in my music career.

What themes inspire your work?

I write more about love and my Ghetto youth and the general aspect of life and living it. I want to represent and share my music with more people so more themes will allow me to touch more people with my music. My aim now is making people to like all the songs we dropping as singles now so when it matures into an album people will be willing to step out and grab it because the music is great. The Brainna brand is a vibrant one and the aim to make music everyone can relate and vibe to.

I thank everyone and BullHaus for putting me on the team because it was all just a dream until now.
