BEATWAVES can state on authority that winners of the MTN Hit Maker music reality show have not received any money from organizers of the show despite public claims that the winner would walk home with an amount of GH¢100,000 and another GH¢50,000 for the first-runner up.
When BEATWAVES reached the Corporate Communications Department of MTN for an explanation on why the winners have not being paid, the company swore it never promised to give the winner a cool GH¢100,000, a year’s promotional package and other souvenirs and also give the first runner up an amount of GH¢50,000 from the MTN Foundation plus a promotional package.
The paper was directed to speak to an MTN official by name Eugene Ntri who surprisingly, blamed a section of the media for putting out reports that the winners would be given cash amounts of GH¢100,000 and GH¢50,000 in addition to a year’s promotional package.
According to Eugene, MTN would rather use the money to promote the music career of the winners but not that the money would be given to them.
He explained further that MTN would keep the money in an account for the winners and liaise with their respective managers on how the amount would be managed.
