Veteran Nigerian actress, Bukky Ajayi, has reportedly passed on.
Reports coming from Nigeria indicate that she died on Wednesday morning after a battle with heart-related issues. She was 82.
Earlier this year, she won the Industry Merit award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
The eloquent actress touched many hearts as she got a standing ovation for her contribution in the African movie industry.
She said, “I wish I could stand up. But if I stand up I will fall down. Are you all standing for me? Thank you. I am very very grateful to you.”
Bukky Ajayi was born a Christian but she later converted to Islam.
Her first role in the Nigerian movie industry was in ‘Village Headmaster.’ She has also had roles in Mother of George, Indecent Girl and Diamond Ring.
