Okyeame Kwame Set To Release Gospel Track

Award-winning Hiplife artise Kwame Nsiah Apau, known in showbiz as ‘Okyeame Kwame’, is set to release his debut gospel song in the coming days.

The song which will be titled “Halleluyah” will hit the airwaves soon, he revealed in an interview with Kafui Dey and Baisiwa Dowuona-Hammond on GH One TV’s Breakfast Show GH Today on Wednesday.

According to the Hiplife maestro who turned 40 years old last Sunday, his first gospel song was scheduled for release on last Friday (April 22)  but that date coincides with another event he has programmed.

“There is a new thing coming. I wanted to drop my new song on Friday but I don’t know if it’s possible. But between now and the next month, my new song will be out and it’s going to be my first gospel song.”

Meanwhile, Okyeame Kwame is organizing a fundraising concert in support of the Ghana Paralympic team. The Rap Doctor will serenade patrons of +233 Jazz Bar & Grill, with a Stripped concert in order to raise $40,000 to send the Ghana Paralympics team to the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics.

“I believe that if we are able to raise $40,000, 11 athletes will be able take part in this year’s paralympics sports in Rio” Okyeame Kwame said.

The target amount is expected to be raised through a concert, corporate sponsorships and appeal to the ordinary Ghanaian.  The program is billed to come on Friday 22nd April at the plush +233 Jazz Bar & Grill.

According to Okyeame he is motivated by inspiration and respect for athletes especially para sports athletes. He just could not resist the opportunity to bring his little support to the Paralympic team when it was needed.

“I’ve a lot respect for athletes but I even have more respect for parasports athletes because society forces them to be on the street out there begging. But they won’t beg, they have worked hard to become athletes in order to win Gold medals for the country. So I think that for what they represent, we must support them,” he explained.

This is not the first time the Rap Doctor is organizing events to support causes. He has done a lot over the years most notably is his campaign for sensitizing the populace on Hepatitis, organizing free screening and vaccinations.
