South African Is New CEO Of TV3

The Board of Directors of TV3 Network Limited (TV3) announces the appointment of Mr. Ray Nkwe as the Chief Executive Officer of TV3 effective February 1, 2016.

Mr. Ray Nkwe takes over from Mr. Augustus Bamfo Dickson who is retiring from the service of the Company after nineteen (19) years of dedicated service. Mr. Nkwe also assumes the role of Chief Operations Officer of Media General (Ghana) Limited – the sole shareholder of TV3 Network Limited and MG Radio Limited.

Mr. Ray Nkwe is a South African national and an award winning Broadcast Executive. He has successfully led, turned around and repositioned South Africa’s biggest Television channel SABC1, SABC Commercial Division and SABC Commercial Radio businesses profitably.

He is a seasoned and accomplished practitioner within the media industry. He has over twenty two (22) years of experience across multiple industries within South Africa and internationally.

Mr. Nkwe worked for South Africa’s leading companies including South African Broadcasting Corporation, South African Tourism, 3 Diamonds Media & Communications and most recently South African Airways as its Head of the South African region.

Mr. Ray Nkwe takes over from Mr. Augustus Bamfo Dickson  who has spent close to two decades in the service of TV3. He joined TV3 in 1997 as an officer of the Engineering Department and through the dint of hard work and dedicated service, rose through the ranks to become the Head of the Engineering Department.

As the Head of Engineering, he was responsible for the full implementation of the nationwide expansion of TV3’s broadcast transmission from Accra to all the other regions of Ghana.

He also successfully led TV3 in the digitization of its studios from 2011 to 2012. In October 2013, Mr. Augustus Dickson was the obvious choice when a Chief Executive Officer was to be appointed to lead the Company.

Mr. Augustus Dickson accordingly assumed office as the Acting Chief Executive Officer on October 2013 and was confirmed as the substantive Chief Executive Officer and appointed as a member of the Board of Directors in March 2014.
