The KLM@55 Africa Music Hunt is set to move to the next gear as the 19 contestants witness their first eviction this Thursday.
Viasat1 and KLM Ghana launched KLM@55 Africa Music Hunt in October this year to mark the latter's 55th anniversary of operations in Ghana. The competition, which was open to the public, was created to reward the ultimate talented singer and runner-ups.
The jury faced a difficult task of sifting through hundreds of video recordings after about a month to come up with 20 finalists, of which one withdrew midway into the competition.
The finalists were then tasked to record and shoot randomly selected songs, which have been airing on Viasat1 TV and also on the Viasat 1 Ghana Youtube channel. The finalists have also been tasked to canvass for likes and shares on their individual videos to earn them a slot in the next round of the competition.
The 19 contestants will be on This Morning on Thursday, December 3, to face their first eviction. 10 successful contestants will sail through to the next round where they are expected to sing their rendition of a list of five contemporary highlife musicians.
The overall winner of the KLM@55 Africa Music Hunt gets a roundtrip ticket to Amsterdam and a cash prize of GHC 5,555, courtesy KLM, the most preferred airline from Accra to the Netherlands, Europe, the Middle & Far East and the Americas.
The winner also gets Viasat1 sponsored recording contract. The second and third contestants will join the overall winner to Amsterdam and will receive GHC 555 each.
