Aim Higher Africa, the not-for-profit organization with the focus of building the next generation of entrepreneurs through the use of education and information technology is taking it’s innovative IGNITE initiative to the streets.
After the tremendous success of the youngpreneurs toolkit class which has reached 0ver 5000 students so far, the Ignite team through its outreach program is reaching out to vulnerable street children to provide a range of learning activities and life skills to the children who have no access to education.
The IGNITE team led by its founder Peace Hyde, have been running the market initiative for the past year in conjunction to its entrepreneurial classes, delivering basic literacy, numeracy and science lessons to street children.
So far, they have managed to put about 100 street children into primary schools in Ghana. The initiative brings together qualified social workers and volunteer teachers to help rehabilitate the street children, some of whom have experienced severe abuse on the streets.
The market education program will hit markets and bus terminals in high traffic areas such as Kaneshie, Madina, Nima, Adum and market Circle just to mention a few.
The team hopes to recruit bright street children and train them up by providing them the skills through education to get the advantages the home child has.
