Hello and welcome to a Piece of Peace, your weekly dose of motivation and inspiration.
This week I will like to share with on the topic “The power of Change.” I tend to have mixed feelings when it comes to change. When things remain the same for too long I get frustrated and when things change too quickly, I tend to crave for some form of security. Change is especially difficult to manage in relationships.
One moment we are on top of the world experiencing the euphoria of love and the next moment we are in the abyss of heartbreak. When change happens it can be very difficult to manage our emotions. A friend of mine confided in me this week.
Her 5-year relationship ended abruptly. Her partner left the relationship for someone whom he felt understood him a lot better than my friend did. He said they had grown apart and my friend was no longer exciting. Her confidence was very low. She would not eat for days and could not accept the fact that her dream wedding to the only man she had ever loved was not going to happen anymore.
She went through a period of depression and at a point considered taking her own life. This was a very sad situation indeed. Change can be a volatile thing. Not everyone is sufficiently equipped to deal with sudden change and similar to my friend, that lack of preparation and understanding of that change, led to a very traumatic time for her.

As I told my friend, things didn’t work out because, well, greater things were in the works. Its so difficult while were blind and hurting and don’t know which way is up, but, if you have faith in anything, have faith in the fact the universe has a beautiful way of straightening things out far better than we ever could. You may not see it today or tomorrow, but you will look back in a few years and be absolutely perplexed and awed by how every little thing added up and brought you somewhere wonderful-or where you always wanted to be.
You will be grateful that things didn’t work out the way you once wanted them to. So don’t let anyone push you to a point of giving up on yourself. Just because it is broken for now, it does not mean it is over. Think about it, puzzles are broken into scattered pieces; it just takes time to put the biggest and most beautiful puzzle picture together. Self-doubt is the first step to failure. See it, believe it, work towards it and become successful, it all starts with the mind and heart.
No matter what you do, be yourself, because everyone else is taken.
Much Love,
Peace Hyde.
