The audience: The loudest support base came from Team Kumang, Team Donna, Team Beverly and Team Selinam. Team Kukua lacked a little steam but this didn’t stop their girl from bringing her best foot forward during the night.
The show began with a magical performance by a local magician who thrilled fans to set of tricks in his book before introducing Dancehall Queen MzVee to start the night and she really had the crowd singing to her favorite hits like “Natural Girl”,Abofra among others.

Then came the first QnA session as one by one the delegates came to answer questions they picked through charades ushering us into the real competition. Some contestants did exceptionally well like Martha and Kukua while others tried their best but still were short of a good answer.
Shortly after followed the talent round and Kukua kicked it off dressed as ace journalist and private investigator Anas and recited a wonderful poem about corruption in the country, then stylist, Antwiwaa took over and did her own thing by using regular house clothes to create stylish outfits. We felt the presence of Nigerian Songstress Asa during Kumang’s performance of “Jailer”.
The auditorium came alive when Dancehall artiste and BET winner Stonebwouy came on stage to do what he does best. He got the whole crowd dancing to the rhythm of his tunes and we even caught John Dumelo breaking a move or two.
It was crunch time as the 10 delegates came back on stage dressed in beautiful night gowns designed by Jessica Torks, Lumiere couture, Anutua couture and Afriken by Nana. As the representative of Charter house brought the envelope which was going to mark the end of the road for 5 girls, you could fell the nervousness oozing of the stage.
Miss talent went to Antwiwaa whiles Kumang swept the two awards for Miss Congeniality & Miss Photogenic. Finally Donna, Soraya, Karen, Beverly and AJ had to take a bow leaving Kumang, Martha, Selinam, Antwiwaa and Kukua to battle it out. The five remaining girls were given the opportunity to make their final speech after which they answered questions from the Judges they chose by charades drawing us closer to the big announcement.
The last artist of the night to ease a very tense session was no other than Eazzy Babbyyyyyy. Her energetic songs and dance moves wasn’t really moving the crowd but some still seemed to enjoy with, maybe they were too anxious to know the winner.
The time had finally arrived, which 5 of these beautiful ladies lives was going to change and who would Eirene Binabiba Miss Malaika 2014 hand over to. The envelope was brought, fingers were crossed and Joyce Ayeh Miss Malaika 2014 2nd runner up was invited to crown her successor. The 2nd runner up was Antwiwaa then Martha was runner up to the queen, prior to the final announcement Team Kumang was already in a jubilant mood making their way to the front row to welcome the would be queen but this was not meant to be. Though they had the same letters begging their names Miss Kukua Korsah emerged the ultimate winner to the astonishment of many.
The crowd shouted and cheered as Eirene handed over the crown to the beautiful Kukua to start her reign. Miss Malaika 2015 proves again that the obvious isn’t always the right.
