Young People Advised To Be Mindful In Selecting Their Role Models At The 3rd Edition Of The ‘Hope 4 Life Tour’

Founder of League of Extraordinary Women Ghana and Channel Manager at Joy Prime, Nana Yaa Serwaa Sarpong has advised the youth to be cautious in selecting who becomes their role models.

Speaking at the 3rd edition of the ‘Hope 4 Life Tour’ in Nungua Senior High School (NUNSEC) on Saturday, 24th October, 2015, Nana Yaa explained that, choosing a perfect role model to emulate forms an essential path for young people.

“They motivate us, teach us in a specific way to an extent where we uncover our true potentials, and overcome our barriers. They leave us with the opportunity to develop not only fairly innocuous with regards to our personality, but rather alongside with it in the most natural of ways”.

Touching on ways to select good role models, Nana Yaa described that not all people who are publicly successful or have celebrity status are of good behaviour. She said one can easily find the rightful role models by first knowing what they want in life, and in what aspect do they need empowerment, guidance, direction and inspiration.
She added that “looking for people who achieved similar results as the ones you are going after and someone who by his own actions inspires you in a specific way can help you make a good decision in choosing good role models”.

Renowned radio broadcaster and entrepreneur Abeiku Santana delivering his speech touched on the acceptance and use of technology among the youth today.

According to Abeiku Santana, today’s technology has an increasingly importance in education, explaining that, technology provides information more easily to students through internet and people can also connect with other people such as teachers and peers through social networks.

He however bemoans the rate at which students negatively overuse technology, and that negative side can have serious and long-term consequences.

Abeiku advised the participants to identify the positive sides of the new technology and deceits from the negative impacts that may affect their education and lives in future.

Miss Tourism Ghana 2014 Belvy Naa Teide Ofori, Edwina Momoh, and Ryhme Sonny motivated the students by telling them the challenges they faced in life to reach at the point they are now.

TV cum Radio personality, cum musician, cum actor, Andy Dosty made a guest appearance with Kesse and performed alongside the Nungua Senior High school choir to entertain the crowd.
