Exclusive Events Ghana, organisers of Miss Ghana, have debunked reports that they are in a dilemma as to whether or not to maintain ace broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwa (KKD) as the pageant’s resident host.
“As early as August this year, I can confirm that as organizers, we were very sure of who is hosting Miss Ghana 2015. So we are not in a dilemma.
For every event company, everybody can confirm that when the event is beginning, you will be in a dilemma who to put on for the year. But then as at about two weeks to the event, and you are still in a dilemma, that is an issue… I’m sure everybody will see on November 7 who the emcee is,” Business Development Manager of Exclusive Events Ghana, Agyemang Appiah said in an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Univers’ mid-morning show, Brunch2Lunch.
On whether conclusions could be drawn that Daily Guide’s report was true should KKD not emcee the event, Agyemang said, “We’ve chosen an emcee for 2015 and believe whoever we see on November 7 is the right person. As organisers we chose just as we chose KKD in 2012, Gideon Aryeequay in 2013. In case KKD is not seen, what you should conclude is, Exclusive Events have chosen another good person to represent for the evening.”
The Daily Guide newspaper reported that organizers were concerned about public reactions and their brand should they put KKD on stage to host the event. On the other hand, considering KKD’s contribution towards Miss Ghana, they were not willing to give up on him.
This year’s Miss Ghana slated for November 7 will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre. Aside the bragging right, the winner will drive home the sleek Citroën C4 Aircross and represent Ghana at Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China.
