Tigo Is Brand Of The Year - Head of State Awards

Mobile operator, Tigo won two prestigious awards during the recently held Head of State Awards (HOSA) at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Accra. The telecommunication giant was adjudged the Brand of the year and Most Innovative company for 2015.

The HoSA awards is the second big win by Tigo Ghana in 2015 as it recently chalked success at the Ghana Telecom Awards, winning Best Innovative Product for Tigo Music, and CSR company of the year.

The Brand of the year award was fiercely competitive with only Tigo and Vodafone emerging from the teleco sector to compete other brands such as Indomie and Melcom.

Tigo emerged the expected winner as the brand seems to have taken a big leap with the launch and implemetation of successful campaigns such as Drop that Yam and Yensor Nkoaa.

On the night, Tigo Ghana also beat Huawei and Marie Stopes International to win the Most Innovative Company of the year. The award recognizes Tigo's overall innovative achievement in product, marketing and sales, and the importance of innovation as a strategy to influence on going business development.

Present at this year's Gala was John May, Secretary General to the Duke of Edinburgh, Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ahmed and the Education Minister, Professor Jane Opoku Agyeman who represented the President, John Mahama.

The Ghana Business Awards section is the new addition to HOSA which seeks to recognize the contribution of Ghanaian businesses to the economy.
