The day will include a Spotlight on Co-production roundtable with the NFVF and the Actors Roundtable which includes cast members from the opening film Ayanda.

The Leading Lady lounge provides a space for filmmakers to interact, learn and engage with industry experts as well as counterparts. This speaks to our objective of ensuring that filmmakers work together and that they are exposed to all film value chain elements through constant interaction”, says Peter Kwele, NFVF Head of Marketing and Communications.
The First Lady, Tobeka Madiba Zuma will be also be the guest of honour who will take to the podium to talk about the role of women in SA film over the last 20 years and celebrating their continued contribution in the SA Film Industry.
The second day will start with a story-telling event for the 67 minutes during Mandela Day, where the children’s version of Long Walk to Freedom will be read to a group of young South Africans. The storytelling event is based on the concept of having an authentic and original way of taking facts, experiences, memories and visions from the mind and turning them into words for children and others to comprehend from the storyteller’s perspective. This is a way to essentially preserve the traditional means of storytelling whilst entertaining, educating, and engaging the children.
During both days in the Lounge, renowned fashion photographer, Nick Boulton, will capture Africa’s first ladies and men in film in a glamorous portrait photo shoot to commemorate the event.
“The Lounge is an opportunity for my fellow actresses and aspiring actors to engage with brands that will further their career while motivating and inspiring each other to reach new heights in the industry” said Terry about the Leading Lady Lounge. “I’m very passionate about seeing women grow in our industry so I hope this Lounge will create opportunities for our acting stars to aim for the moon.”
