The unit caters to women from over 22 communities and records 100 new births each month.
Not only has the improved state of the unit reduced maternal and infant mortality rate, it has brought some dignity to the experience of childbirth for women in the district.
Osabarima Adusei added, “the East Akyem District has benefitted greatly from Tigo’s good business initiatives under its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and we look forward to forging stronger partnerships.”
Obaapayin Yaa Adusei remarked, “my team and I have a simple task – to work smart, let our work speak for itself and spread love in the communities we operate and today, with this honour done me, you have validated our efforts.”
