Sonnie Badu Mentors Royal Chris, Winner Of Vodafone Icons Remix Edition

UK based International Act, Sonnie Badu has chosen to mentor Christian Owusu Jnr, winner of the 2014 Vodafone icons remix edition.

Christian, popularly known as Chris, whose vision is to become the hottest male vocalist in the world has been privileged to be mentored by International Act Sonnie Badu.  This decision by Sonnie Badu has culminated in the release of a single by Chris which features Sonnie Badu.

In an interview with Chris this morning, “I feel happy and blessed to be mentored by him and work with him on my first project. He is mentoring me in all areas of my music life and my working with him is the work of the Lord. I am grateful for the opportunity and also for the fact that he brought out everything he has to make this project a success”.

In the interview with Chris he reiterated that before the grande finale for the Icons Remix Edition, he had hinted that he will be going into Gospel Music so his fans should not be surprised.
Sonnie Badu on the other hand, could not hide his excitement about working with Chris. “I am excited to mentor Chris. I am proud of him and I see something great in him, hence my decision to mentor him as a son. Ghanaians should watch out for him, he is the next big thing to happen to Gospel music”, he reiterated.

The new single was recorded in Ghana about a month ago at Groove house studio, by sound engineer, Francis Osei, the brain behind Sonnie Badu’s “Wonder God”. During the recording of the song in March, Sonnie took to his social media page to state that Chris happens to be the first Ghanaian gospel artist endorsed by him and also the first Ghanaian local artist he has featured.

The song titled “OGENE OTEGA”, meaning God is worthy to be praised is expected to enjoy massive airplay and hopefully, should be a good start-up for the young gospel musician Chris.

Chris is set to launch the single this evening at a short ceremony, but will have his debut performance at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards come Saturday April 11, 2015, where he will release “OGENE OTEGA”.
