Photos & Full List Of Winners At VGMA Industry Awards 2015

The VGMA's  Industry Awards was held on Monday, April 6th,2015 at the Alisa Hotel, Accra ahead of the 16th edition of the Ghana Music Awards scheduled Saturday April 11th 2015 at the Accra International Conference Centre,

Mcs for the night were George Quaye and Berla Mundi coordinated the show to its perfection. Some of the top stars who performed on the night of the show aside Emelia Arthur were Efya, Raquel and Ras Kuuku and Nana Ampadu who was honoured on the night.

The awards ceremony was strictly by invitation and had a lot of industry folks attending.

Below are the full list of winners at the colourful ceremony.

  •     Gospel Album of the Year – Evangelist Diana Asamoah
  •     Record of the Year goes – Koda
  •     Most outstanding songwriter of the Year – Wiyaala – Africa
  •     Producer of the year – DJ Breezy – ‘Seiho’ Castro ft. D-Black
  •     Sound Engineer of the year – George Forest
  •     Best traditional artist of the year – King Ayisoba
  •     World Bank Awards for music for development – Nii Okai – Save A Heart Foundation
  •     Instrumentalist of the year – Frank Kissi
  •     MUSIGA Merit Award – J.V. Owusu
  •     Lifetime achievement award …Nana Ampadu







The 2015 edition of the Ghana Music Awards is sponsored by telecommunication giant Vodafone Ghana.

One of Ghana’s best-known highlife stars, Nana Kwame Ampadu, took the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ at the 2015 at the Industry Awards night which preceded the 16th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

“Thank you for the honour. God created me differently and has given me the gift of singing. So that I can make a whole conversation with a friend in a song. So I will sing a thanksgiving song, he said,” he told the close gathering of attendees.

The Kwahu born artiste whose contribution to authentic Ghanaian music over decades can boast of hundreds of evocative songs that transcends time.

One of Ampadu’s most popular songs, ‘Obra’, which he performed on Monday night at the Alisa hotel in Accra as he received his award, was recorded by the Ramblers International Band, and has for years been associated with one of Ghana’s oldest and most popular Television shows, ‘Akan Drama’.

He also formed the famous African Brothers Band in 1963 and has released countless hits with the band.

Awarded for their great contributions to the industry alongside the legend were 9 other personalities.

Unlike the main awards, the Industry Awards categories are not voted for by the general public.
