‘The Versatile Show’ Cast Insured For GHS350, 000 By Phoenix Insurance

The ‘’Versatile Show’’ was created by Okyeame Kwame in 2012 with the help of Uncle Ebo Whyte on drama and Prof NiiYartey of Noyam Dance institute on dance. The concept is to create a total art experience. The vision is to improve stage crafts, Hiplife music and give patrons their monies worth.

The versatile show this year is titled ‘’THE BEGGARS’’.  It’s a satiric play that portrays how the Ghanaian society looks down on beggars yet depends on foreign aid to survive. From this angle, a story is told from the points of view of these five characters; the Politician, the pimp, the Police, the Pastor and the Prostitute to depict a society that pretends to be decent and honourable.

The other components of the show include fascinating music, dance, poetry, magic and comedy from outstanding actors and musicians.

The 70 member cast have been rehearsing tirelessly for the past two months at the national theatre each day. They dancers have been involved in rigorous stunts and they have put in their all in preparation to wow the audience and give them entertainment satisfaction on the set date.

Both dance and drama involve a lot of climbing, turning, jumping and rolling which put the cast health at risk. This called for the need to get a selfless, dedicating and caring insurance company who would be willing to insure them.

Very few insurance companies understand the art industry but phoenix insurance has proven to be very supportive. They opine their support for the art industry in Ghana and since‘’The versatile show’’ involves rigorous artistic art,it called for their inclusion.

Phoenix Insurance Company is providing an insurance cover of GHC 350, 000 for the 70 member cast of the Versatile Show. Each member is insured to the tune of GHC 5,000.

This is the first time an insurance company is partnering with an event company to insure cast in a show. Firm Bridges Communications is the first company to take the needed precaution to secure cast in a show, something which event planners should have considered long ago.
