Photos From The Launch Of Television Awards Ghana

 The maiden edition of the Television Awards Ghana was launched at Alisa Hotel over the weekend in Accra.

The event is designed to engage all relevant stakeholders in television broadcasting and set to conduct structured annual awards for deserving television stations, programs, production crew and individuals in the industry. The Project also gives television viewers nationwide an opportunity to interface with their favourite TV Stations and Programs.

The project is being held in partnership with various industry stakeholders including the Ministry of Communications, National Communications Authority, the National Media Commission, Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association among others to establish clear guidelines for Ghana's migration from analog broadcasting to digital terrestrial transmission (DTT). This platform will also serve as an exciting medium to promote approved and trending industry information from the regulatory bodies for the consumption of the general public.

The Board of Trustees for the project is made up of 7 reputable senior television industry players with a rich reservoir of experience and knowledge to guide and help in steering the various bodies that make up the event structure for a successful industry event. The Board is tasked with the responsibility to supervise The Planning Committee and The Faculty in the discharge of their duties as well as appoint a Votes Accounting Partner and Mobile Short Message Service Provider to provide needed support services for the success of the Industry, Primetime and Popular Awards.

TELEVISION AWARDS GHANA 2014 is planned to follow a festival format with activities such as Board Meetings, Faculty Meetings, Nominations by all television stations broadcasting in Ghana as well as independent program content production houses, Press Conferences, Networking Seminar, Industry Workshop and Exhibition, Nominees/Stakeholders Dinner and Industry Awards as well as the exciting climax which will be the PRIMETIME AWARDS to be held on the 10th of October 2014 at the National Theatre.

The project implementation strategy for the awards festival captures key inputs of both analog and digital television networks broadcasting in Ghana by enforcing the board directive that television stations shall appoint two members each to serve on the Faculty which decides ultimately on nominations and awards. This exciting platform also creates a healthy interface with the general public as “4 Popular Award Categories” shall be exclusively voted for by television viewers nationwide with The Faculty deciding on the “30 Outstanding Industry and Primetime Award Categories” approved by The Board through a technical peer review electoral college. For this year's event, the planning committee in consultation with stakeholders has forwarded two honourary awards to the Board of Trustees for consideration.

TELEVISION AWARDS GHANA FESTIVAL is an exciting industry platform with unlimited inherent promotional benefits for corporate Ghana. The festival is well structured and positioned to thrive on an all-inclusive-approach with an implementation strategy that is based on adopting world best practices in awarding indigenous television productions.

The project will also give viewers nationwide an opportunity to interface with their favourite TV Stations and programs. he awards championed by Showtime Television; a content development company plans to follow a festival format with activities including Board Meetings, Faculty Meetings, Nominations, Press Conferences, Networking Seminar, Industry Workshop and Exhibition, Stakeholders Dinner and Industry Awards.
