American Coach, Clifton Johnson Arrives In Ghana For 2014 Ghana Basketball & Leadership Camp

American coach Clifton Johnson has arrived in Ghana for the 2014 Ghana Basketball and Leadership Camp. The experienced trainer is among high-profile coaches’ who will supervise the second edition of the camp scheduled to take place at the Adisadel College in Cape Coast between August 17-24, 2014.

Johnson has travelled to the African country for the second time having participated in the maiden edition at the Penfield School in Accra last year.

He will take the players through several drills handling, shooting, passing, pivoting, dribbling amongst other advanced techniques like cross-over, double cross-over, rebounding and other emerging techniques.

He will work alongside other local trainers like veteran Emmanuel Quaye to help the kids get grip on the fundamentals of the game in Ghana.

The American, who will also be looking out for talents for some High Schools in the United States, is delighted to impart knowledge on the kids.

“It’s great to be back for the second edition of the Ghana Basketball and Leadership Camp,” Johnson told BASKETBALLghana.com

“I was part of the exercise last year and it was awesome. That is why I am here for this year’s camp.

“I am looking forward to meeting young and ambitious kids who want to make basketball a career avenue.

“The opportunities in basketball are great and change your fortunes if you work hard at it. With hard work, commitment, discipline and dedication, you can reach your goals.

“Ghana is an amazing country and can’t wait to work with these kids.

“There are few players who have gained educational scholarship abroad because of basketball and so this year we hope to have other joining them.

Kids between 10-19 years will participate in the one-week intensive exercise in the coast region of Ghana with huge educational opportunity both home and abroad beckoning.
