A Piece of Peace : Mind Over Matter

A wise man once said, “If you think you can do a thing, or if you think you can’t do a thing, you are right”. That man was Henry Ford, one of the greatest industrialists of our time. And he would certainly know a thing or two about success and failure. Hi, My name is Peace Hyde and thanks for joining me yet again for this week’s edition of a Piece of Peace, your weekly dose of motivation and inspiration.

Today I am sharing with you on the topic Mind Over Matter. To begin, lets take a look at how some of the greatest achievements of our time were conceived. Every great success story begins with an idea. A simple, thought process, which overtime grows into a drive. When nurtured carefully, that drive is transformed into something like an obsession, which then forces the individual to create and bring into reality that idea.

Those who successfully undertake this process have been the pioneers of some of the most revolutionary products of our time. Examples are the airplane, the light bulb, the Internet, the car, the telephone etc. All of these creations had one thing in common- An Idea. They envisioned a future in their mind, where their inventions, products or service would add value to what we are already doing.

The Mind holds the power to create or to destroy. You are what you think. It is one of the most powerful tools we have. It is responsible for how far you will go in life. The type of mind-set we have also determines how we deal with the challenges that life brings our way. For many of us, overcoming obstacles on the road to success is something that seems nigh impossible. The only limitation to your growth or success is the ones we place on ourselves. When you are faced with a problem, how do you deal with it?

You possess the ability to create your future. You may currently be in a situation today and so many people may be telling you how impossible it is to come out of it. Everything seems to be against you and if someone was to place a bet on you coming through that situation successfully, it is very likely that the odds will be greatly stacked against you. If you can relate to what I am saying today, I want you to do one simple thing. Decide what you want the outcome of your journey to be. Do not make that decision based on what everyone thinks you are going to do, but make that decision solely based on what you feel you want the outcome to be. Once you have done that, work diligently to ensure that you get exactly the result you want.

You see, many times, we get so bombarded with negativity from every corner of our lives that we end up believing that the popular opinion about our lives might actually be the truth. It is easier to conform to what everyone already thinks of us than to fight with everything we have to change. Whether you think you can do a thing, or whether you think you cannot, remember you are absolutely RIGHT. You alone can be the driver of the vehicle that is your LIFE. Decide today what you want the outcome of your story to be. It is all in the mind.

Remember, don’t just be yourself, but the best version of yourself.

Peace Hyde.
