Viasat 1 Ghana has launched its maiden Corporate Responsibility project Game Changers. Game Changers is a project in partnership with Reach for Change- Corporate Responsibility partner from the Kinnevik Group.
Game Changers aims to find that social entrepreneur with an idea or plan that can improve education of children in their communities.
The goal is to support local initiatives and to help our communities, by helping social entrepreneurs bring their ideas of championing children’s education to life.
The best social entrepreneur – the Game Changer will receive the necessary support to grow their idea into a sustainable initiative.
“We expect that in the next few years, Game Changers will make significant impact in the Corporate Responsibility arena in Ghana supporting the education of underprivileged children in our communities.
We believe there are some great people making frantic efforts to assist children with their education, but are stifled in their efforts due to monetary constraints. We are reaching out to such people to be part of Game Changers and they may just receive the support they have always needed. Game Changers aims to find that social entrepreneur with an idea or plan that can improve education of children in their communities.
The goal is to support local initiatives and to help our communities, by helping social entrepreneurs bring their ideas of championing children’s education to life.

We will continue to invest in individuals with the right attitude and innovative drive to assist children with education” says Maame Arhin Asare-Konadu, Chief Executive Officer of Viasat1, Ghana.
The winning Game Changer will receive a GHC50, 000 grant and a place in the Reach for Change incubator program. This includes professional coaching and potential media space to grow their initiatives.
The shortlisted top four candidates will receive GHC 3,000 and support by Reach for Change to develop their ideas.
Application is open to individuals who have identified problems in education in their communities and are in the process of solving these problems in their own small way.
The application forms is available online to be filled and submitted between 22nd April and 9th May, 2014 at www.viasat1.com.gh/gamechangers
Applications will be scrutinized and shortlisted; after which 5 successful candidates would have the opportunity to showcase their ideas to the viewing public who will vote for a winner.
Game Changers in Ghana is part of a broader search for Game Changers in 12 countries, in an international collaboration between, Modern Times Group- MTG AB which is the parent company of Viasat1, and Reach for Change.
