Outstanding contributors to Ghana’s music industry were honored last Saturday, April 26th,2014 at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards industry night which was held at Alisa Hotel.
Ten category awards were presented at an event that was attended by several musicians and industry experts.
Some of the personalities at the event included Dzifa Abla Gomashie, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Chief Dele Momodu, the publisher of Ovation International Magazine; Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour), Musicians Union of Ghana president; Ben Brako, Efya, D-Black, and Kwabena Kwabena.
The event also witnessed some thrilling performances from Tamale-based Densi, OJ, and M.anifest.

The industry awards precedes the main awards show and basically awards nominees in the more technical and unpopular categories.
Winners for the industry awards are adjudged by the academy, board and peers.
Nominees in the music for development category, Gasmilla and Raphius Amigo, were given GHc 1000 each with the winner, Kwabena Kwabena, taking GHc 3000 home – from the World Bank.

Producer of the year – ‘Killbeatz’ Addison
Sound Engineer of the year – Kaywa
Instrumentalist of the year – Victor Dey
Traditional Artiste of the year – Densi
Music for Development – Kwabena Kwabena’s Save a Heart campaign. – Gets 3,000 Cedis – Founded by the World Bank
Unsung Artiste – MzVee (Would perform at main event)
MUSIGA Merit Award – Korkor Amarteifio
Lifetime Achievement Award – Ebo Taylor
