OPEN LETTER TO CHARTER HOUSE : The Vodafone Ghana Music Award Jams which seems to be hovering across the length and breadth of the country due to intention by Charter House to make the music award a national event is not serving the national purpose but rather sending Accra to the other regions.
The nominees jam ideally is to bring the event closer to the other regions and make them become more aware of the main event which is to award their favorite music artistes.
The Nominees Jam, an integral part of the annual music awards has over the years been staged in Takoradi, Accra and Kumasi. The Tamale event was held on April 5 at the Tamale Sports Stadium and attracted about 40,000 music fans in the Northern regional capital.
An impressive list of music acts including Sarkodie, Samini, and last year's Artiste of the Year winner - R2Bees – were among the acts that performed at the 15th annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards' Nominees Jam.
Charter House the main organizers of the event has over the years been commercializing artistes who will be awarded on the scheduled date for the VGMA on the reason that it is costly to mention all names.
But the question that comes to mind is cant they drop one artiste out of the about five artiste they use in their commercials and include a local artiste who is famous in the region which will be made to host the nominees jam?
If the commercial is played in Accra ironically is calling for music fans in the capital to join the train to that particular region the jams will be held. Many will then ask what at all will he or she want to see in Sarkodie, Samini and the rest whom they have seen over years performed at the Dome at the scheduled region for the jams. The nominees jam ideally is to bring the event closer to the other regions and make them become more aware of the main event which is to award their favorite music artistes.

This clearly shows that Charter House has not been given music lovers in the Greater Accra region reason to follow them to other regions to witness the nominees jam thus making the commercials been played in the Capital waste of money and with no relevant to the music lovers.
I therefore suggests that, Charter House in their next nominees jam will at least include one of the local artistes from the region which will be hosting the event in their commercial that will played in Accra thus that will give music lovers reason to go to that region to witness the jam.
When this is also accepted it will encourage many producers who have been picking up these local artistes in their quest to also make them realize their dreams come true. Charter House, it is time you utilize the resources you have gathered from the pockets of Ghanaians well so your fight of making the Vodafone Ghana Music Award a national event will be backed by all.
Thank You.
