Arguably a pioneer in the hiplife movement, producer of several songs on hiplife Grandpapa Reggie Rockstone’s debut album and half of popular music group FOKN Bois, M3nsa Ansa has advised Ghanaian musicians to move out of their regular comfort zones of singing about love, women and petty stuff to causing social change with their music as that is what he believes the nation needs most at the moment.
M3nsa, who recently took to social networking site Twitter to applaud some artists for their exemplary skills and uniqueness in presenting societal issues that need awareness in an interview with NY DJ on the Entertainment Unplugged Show on Kapital Radio, disclosed Ghanaian musicians were very talented but are yet to explore the full potentials of their music.
“In a country like Ghana the where politicians do not care about the citizenry, the only powerful tool to get to them and bring to bare the social issues and challenges is music but it hurts that most Ghanaian musicians who are super talented do not even know the power of their craft and skill and would therefore sing all about women and love.
We have the power to change the fortunes of our country but we are just lazy. We need to do something different than just jumping to the bandwagon.”M3nsa, who recently took to social networking site Twitter to applaud some artists for their exemplary skills and uniqueness in presenting societal issues that need awareness in an interview with NY DJ on the Entertainment Unplugged Show on Kapital Radio, disclosed Ghanaian musicians were very talented but are yet to explore the full potentials of their music.

Buttressing his argument and a call for the Ghanaian musician to be conscious of the tool they possess, he quoted Nigerian Afro beat legend Fela Kuti who once said, “The African musician should not sing about love because we have more important things to talk about”.
He however disclosed he was not against any musician but wished there could be a change as people would soon be fed up with the seemingly similar works. He also applauded Sarkodie, R2Bees and Gasmilla for their excellent works.
